Ceremony of the Keys

The traditional nightly locking-up of the Tower of London, which the organiser describes as a 700-year-old ceremony. Visitors attend by pre-booked ticket only.

Organised by Historic Royal Palaces (their website, opens in a new tab)

This isn't a Great British PAC event — we've listed it because we think our supporters will be interested. For tickets, times or questions, please contact the organiser.

When it runs: Every night at 21:30 (visitors admitted under escort at 21:30 precisely, arrive by 21:25; ends 22:05). Tickets are released at 13:00 on the first working day of each month for the whole of the following month (e.g. April's tickets on the first working day of March); working days exclude weekends and UK bank holidays, and if the release day falls on a Friday, tickets are released at 13:00 the following Monday. Online booking only, maximum 6 tickets per applicant, no waiting list; cancelled tickets are put back on the booking system.
