How it works

Three steps, and you’re one of us

1

A mission lands in your inbox

Caroline Smith sends you what's happening, why it matters, who to contact, the background you need — and an example email to work from.

2

You write your own email

In your own words. It could be a line. It could be an essay. Your words are what make it count — a hundred identical emails read as one.

3

Take part when you can

Nobody takes part in every campaign and nobody is expected to. Skip the ones you can't do — there's no register and no chasing.

The case

Why it matters

Change doesn't only happen at election time.

Every week, decisions are made by ministers, MPs, councils, regulators, businesses and public bodies that affect the future of our country. Those making the decisions should hear from the people they represent.

One email can make a point. Hundreds of individually written emails can demonstrate that an issue matters to people across Britain.

Most emails to politicians are forgotten, deleted or ignored.

But when hundreds of people from every corner of the country write individually, respectfully and passionately about the same issue, people take notice. That is the power of the Email Warriors.

Track record

Campaigns we've supported

  • Protecting Britain's sovereignty over the Chagos Islands
  • Opposing the loss of productive farmland to large-scale solar developments
  • Encouraging greater transparency and accountability in public decision-making
  • Saving the Dartmoor ponies
  • Supporting local community campaigns
  • Raising concerns with MPs and public authorities on matters of national importance

As the movement grows, so will the range of campaigns.

Who joins

Could you be an Email Warrior?

They come from every walk of life and every part of the United Kingdom. You don't need any special qualifications, and you don't need to be political. You just need an email account, a few spare minutes a week, and to care about Britain's future.

  • Believes ordinary people should have a voice
  • Wants to do more than simply complain online
  • Can spare a few minutes from time to time
  • Wants to help make a real difference

You don't need to be a politician. You don't need to be an expert. You just need to be prepared to stand up for what you believe in.

What you agree to

Great British PAC Email Warrior Pledge

Nothing here is a hurdle — it’s what our warriors already do. You’ll be asked to tick that you agree when you sign up.

As an Email Warrior, I pledge that I will:

  1. Always communicate respectfully and courteously, even where I strongly disagree.
  2. Write lawfully and responsibly, taking personal responsibility for the content of any email I send.
  3. Use my own words wherever possible and avoid sending abusive, threatening or defamatory communications.
  4. Check facts where reasonably possible and seek to persuade through reasoned argument rather than intimidation.
  5. Respect the democratic process and the rights of others to hold different views.
  6. Represent the Great British PAC in a positive and professional manner.
  7. Understand that participation in Email Warrior campaigns is entirely voluntary and that I remain personally responsible for any correspondence I choose to send.
  8. Help uphold the reputation and integrity of the Great British PAC.

By joining the Email Warriors, I confirm that I have read and agree to this pledge.

Missions are sent here. If you don't already have a Great British PAC account we'll create you a free supporter account — you need one to be an Email Warrior.

Only used so we can tell you who your own MP is when a mission calls for writing to them. Leave it blank if you'd rather not say.

Agreements

We'll record which version of the Pledge you agreed to and when. Your details are never shared with other members or shown publicly. See our privacy policy.

Politicians can ignore one voice.

They can’t ignore hundreds of people writing, in their own words, about the same thing on the same day.
