Labour Plots £18bn Council Tax Raid on Working Britain

Labour is planning an £18 billion tax raid on more than 25 million households across England, with Treasury figures showing the national council tax take will soar by 43 per cent to £58.8 billion by 2030/31. The rise, branded the "Burnham premium" by the Conservatives, will add £556 to the average Band D bill, nearly double the current rate of inflation, despite the Prime Minister's pledge to make the cost of living his number one priority.
